Is Calci-sand / calcium sand a Safe Substrate for Bearded Dragons?
Marketed as safe because it's "digestible," but it clumps in the digestive tract when ingested — a serious and well-documented impaction risk. The calcium content doesn't offset the danger.

No — Loose sand alone (no packing/mixing) is rated "avoid" as a bearded dragon substrate. Unpacked, purely loose sand is a genuine impaction risk if regularly ingested during feeding strikes, particularly in hatchlings and juveniles whose digestive tracts are smaller.
