Central bearded dragons (Pogona vitticeps) commonly reach 8–12 years with correct husbandry, and well cared-for individuals have been documented living past 15. Lifespan is heavily influenced by UVB provision, temperature accuracy, diet balance (especially not overfeeding fatty insects as adults), and obesity, which is a common and largely preventable shortener of lifespan in this species.
