The homozygous leatherback combination, producing a dragon with essentially no scales at all — smooth, bare skin. Visually striking, but comes with real, serious welfare trade-offs.

WELFARE CONCERN: without scales, silkbacks have little natural protection from UVB burns, physical injury, and moisture loss, and typically need modified, more cautious husbandry (reduced direct UVB distance, careful humidity and hydration management) for their entire lives. Many reptile welfare advocates discourage deliberately breeding for this trait.
