Build

A small food-safe tub with a smooth-edged hole cut in the side works well. Fill it with moss that is damp like a wrung-out sponge, not dripping.

Placement

Put it on the warm-to-middle zone, not on the hottest spot. Cold and damp is a respiratory risk, and hot and damp can turn the hide steamy.

Maintenance

Re-dampen daily as needed and replace the moss every few weeks or when it smells. Old moss can harbour mites and bacteria.
