Gargoyle geckos lack the sticky toe pads of crested geckos

Close relatives such as crested and gargoyle-cousin giant geckos have adhesive lamellae that let them stick to glass. Gargoyle geckos have small claws instead and cannot climb smooth vertical glass, though they are still confident climbers on branches, bark, and foliage.
