Black Night Leopard Gecko
An extremely hypermelanistic (very dark) morph developed over 15+ years by breeder Ferry Zuurmond. Produces near-solid black adults, though hatchlings can show visible pattern that darkens with age.
Welfare note
WELFARE CONCERN: because the line relies on close inbreeding to fix such dark colouration, it is associated with slower growth, weaker fertility, poorly fertile eggs, and hatchlings with kinked tails. Responsible breeders outcross periodically to manage this.
