Giant & Super Giant Leopard Geckos Explained
What makes them different
Unlike colour or pattern morphs, Giant and Super Giant lines are the result of selective breeding purely for larger adult body size, developed over successive generations from naturally larger individuals.
Size expectations
Giants and Super Giants are noticeably and sometimes substantially larger and heavier than a standard adult leopard gecko, with Super Giants representing the upper end of the size range currently established in the hobby.
Care implications
A larger-bodied gecko benefits from a correspondingly larger enclosure floor space and a greater feeding volume than a standard-sized adult, so care plans should be scaled to the individual gecko's actual size rather than a generic adult standard.
Buying considerations
As with any size-selected line, verifying lineage from a breeder who documents Giant/Super Giant genetics is the only reliable way to know what adult size to expect, since a large hatchling alone isn't a guarantee.
