Safe choices
Coco coir and bioactive mixes hold humidity well and suit a long-term setup. Paper towel is ideal for hatchlings and quarantine.
Avoid
Loose sand and calcium sand can be swallowed and cause impaction, and shavings mould quickly at gargoyle-appropriate humidity.
Feeding surface
Offer MRP powder on a ledge or dish rather than directly on substrate, so it does not pick up loose particles.
